Tere-Ama Youths Launch ICT Centre
The Commissioner of Information, Mrs Ibim Semenitari says the rebranding of individual members of our society is critical for the country.
Mrs. Semenitari made this remark recently during the launching of Internet and Communication Technology Centre (lCT) by Tere Ama Youth Council in the Port Harcourt Local Government Area.
The Commissioner noted that the orientation of individuals would pave the way for the right attitude to life. Mrs. Semenitari who was represented by the Director of ICT in the Ministry of Information, Mr. Vincent Ake commended the youths of Tere-Ama for their noble initiative, describing it as capacity building which in turn would create employment opportunities for the youths.
Earlier, the President of Tere-Ama Youths, Comrade Grandee Wokoma had requested Rivers State Government to make the ICT centre a reality since it would centre on capacity building of the youths.
She promised that the Ministry of Information would always welcome valuable ideas of this type.
In another development, the Commissioner of Information, Mrs Ibim Semenitari has described working mothers as good managers anywhere in the world.
Mrs Semenitari made the statement in Port Harcourt, during a workshop entitled “Unwind Working Mothers”, which was organized by pages and Screen services limited.
The Commissioner who was represented by the General Manager of the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, Ms Medline Tador said that working mothers were faced with the difficult task of performing their roles in their workplace as well as managing their houses.
She used the occasion to advise women to ensure that their homes are not made to suffer neglect, pointing out that it would amount to disaster if such is allowed to happen.
The Commissioner enjoined them to channel their children’s energies to quality education which she said would open up channels of opportunities in the long run.
Also speaking the Chief Executive Officer of pages and screen services limited, Mrs Judith Okafor said that the workshop was organized for working mothers to share their problems and seek ways of solving them.
