Ocean Boys Get Warning Over Fan’s Conduct
Ocean Boys have been given a strong warning by the Nigeria Premier League over an incident during the club’s home match in Benin in week two against Enyimba.
An Ocean Boys supporter encroached on the pitch during the game, forcing a stoppage that lasted for minutes.
NPL’s Head of Competition Tunji Babalola expressed the league body’s disappointment with the way Premier League club supporters carry out acts that send wrong signals to the world about the Globacom Premier League.
“We wish to express our total displeasure over the incident as such conduct is contrary to NPL rules and regulations and the aspirations to take the league to greater heights.”
Ocean Boys were further charged to call their fans to order as such conduct could bring the game into disrepute. The charge is applicable to all the Premier League Clubs.
