Orji Tasks Boys Brigade on Moral Decline

The Boys Brigade of Nigeria has been charged to arrest the progressive moral decline among the youths by intensifying its membership drive so as to draw more youths into the organization.

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji who threw the challenge during his investiture as Grand Patron of the Brigade in the state, noted that if more youths embraced the organization, they would imbibe the ideals of discipline and godliness.  

At the ceremony which took place at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia,  Orji remarked that the Brigade has the responsibility of inculcating in youths, the virtues of good neighbourliness, discipline and patriotism.  

The governor further observed that with increasing social ills in this era, it has become imperative that  the youths be trained in Godly ways.  

He pledged to uphold the ideals of the Boy’s Brigade and assist the organization in its task of nurturing God-fearing youths. He promised the Brigade a bus to facilitate its activities.  

Earlier, the President of Boys’ Brigade, Abia State, Sir I.N Akomas, promised that the brigade would continue to do its best in fighting societal ills among Nigerian youths as they (youths) constitute a dynamic force for igniting the fire of national development.  

He appealed to the governor to assist them acquire an 18-seater bus and land in the state for the building their youth camp and training centre.
