Plateau Killings, Affront To National Security, Atiku Cautions
The former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the killings in parts of Plateau State.
It would be recalled that since a group of youths along Rukuba Road in the Jos North LGA, attacked and killed 22 Muslim travellers, Plateau State has known no peace.
Last week, suspected gunmen attacked and killed 36 persons in Yelwa Zangam community in Jos North LGA.
Reacting, Atiku, in a tweet, yesterday, said the recent attack was an affront on Nigeria’s national security.
“The recurring attacks on Jos stands condemned. The Plateau has been a pride of the country and should not be a theatre of blood-letting. This recent attack on the city of Jos, like all others before it and everywhere else, is an affront to our national security.
“We must do our all to protect the Plateau, its people and its heritage of hospitality. I mourn the victims of this new attack and sympathise with their loved ones”, he tweeted.
