LG Boss Flags Off Projects In Community
As the harvest of projects execution continues across Communities in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, the council boss, Hon. Michael John Williams, received showers of encomiums as he stormed his country home; Bakana, to perform the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of some projects in the community.
The projects being executed by the administration simultaneously include a one-storey edifice for the Kalabari Ekine Sekiapu Society, a befitting Memorial Hall for Pedro Compound, as well as the Footbridge construction in Ogurama Community.
Performing the flag-off ceremony in Bakana, Williams, assured that the projects would be completed within two months and would be commissioned as part of projects to celebrate his first 100 days in office.
Speaking on the significance of the projects, he said they would engender rural development as well as enhance communal tranquility and cohesion.
He enjoined the people of the LGA to sustain their support for the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike, whom he said was his role model, adding that he was emulating the good examples of the governor in delivering quality and enduring projects for the good of humanity.
He urged the people of the LGA to take advantage of the ongoing voters’ registration/revalidation exercise by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and continue to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the only party that has the interest of the masses at heart.
In their reaction, the visibly elated Community members, who came out in their colourful and large numbers to give their illustrious son a rousing welcome, thanked the chairman for his pragmatic and pro-people leadership style.
They described the occasion as historic, as no council chairman in the past had achieved so much in just one month in office, noting that the chairman’s presence is already visible in almost all the communities of the LGA.
They pledged their unalloyed support to his administration and promised to work with the contractors handling the projects to achieve its completion target.
