Silverbird Sports Presenter Bags Merit Award
The Head of Sports Silverbird Communi-cations in Port Harcourt, Ibimina Ben-Wakama, has described sports as a unifying factor, mostly football.
He stated that sports are a catalyst to eradicate youth restiveness and other social vices in the society, as sports have been a big business in other parts of the world.
Ben-Wakama, made the assersion, last Sunday, shortly after he was bestowed a merit award on grassroots sports presented by the organisers of the Iyalo D King 4 Aside Football Tournament at the Amanakana Football Stadium, Diobu , Port Harcourt.
According to him, sport is an entertainment, but it is tasking because it requires research and acquainting oneself with current happenings in sports world. He added that he is elated given an award of excellence, in the midst of others.
“I feel elated, I feel selected, I feel among the living, I thank God but then the issue is that to whom much is given, more is expected so giving me this award today, you are asking me to do more.
This award has given me a huge task to work harder, to ensure I effectively and efficiently inform, educate and entertain my fans.
I am not that rugged in sports but I blend it with a little comedy that makes it different,” he stated.
