S’Eagles Goalkeeper Reacts To His Performance
Maduka Okoye is excited to be named as Man of the match after helping Sparta Rotterdam claim a point against FC Utrecht last Thursday.
Okoye made five outstanding saves to help Sparta Rotterdam avoid defeat against FC Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie encounter at the Sparta Stadion.
The game ended 0-0 and it means Maduka Okoye has now kept total of 10 clean sheets this season, including three in his last four matches.
Speaking to the club’s YouTube channel after the game, the German-born 21-year-old said he’s proud of his teammates and the effort they put in.
“I think it was a good game, it was great to help my team take get a point and we all defended well and played well. We went with the mindset of getting the three points, but when it was getting to the end, it was clever not to conceed, because a point is better than none,” he said.
Sparta Rotterdam will travel to Hereeveen for their last game of the 2020-2021 Eredivisie season, a win will them in top half.
“I think we have everything in our hands for Sunday and it’s all on us to get the points and see where we end up,” Okoye concluded.
