Ezenwa Apologises Over Tactical Error
Heartland and Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, has apologised and allayed fears of decline after his error against FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Dan Anyiam Stadium cost his side the win in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw in the Owerri side’s penultimate fixture before last Sunday’s win against MFM FC in Lagos.
Ezenwa, who was subse-quently benched in the last league outing against MFM FC in Lagos told Tidesports source that the late goal conceded in the last home game played by the Owerri side due to an error of his was painful but very impor-tant to point out it was just a fortuitous mistake and he has since moved on looking forward to returning to the team and giving his best when called upon.
“I’ve moved on and I’ve put it behind me because that is one thing we goalkeepers face. As a goal-keeper, you have to have that strong mentality when such things happen, you just have to put it behind you and move on with your career. The mistake I made against FC Ifeanyi Ubah was a painful one of which after the game, I apologised. And this is normal in the life of a goalkeeper.
