Pelican Stars, Officials Test Negative To COVID-19
Players and Officials of Pelican Stars Female FC of Calabar have all tested negative to the COVID-19.
The Chairman of Pelican Stars, Mr Sam Kombor, disclosed this to Tidesports source on Saturday in Calabar.
He said that the result was the outcome of the test undergone by players and officials of the team on January 16 at the General Hospital in Calabar.
Kombor said that the directives for the test was part of the recommen-dations from the Nigeria Women Football League, in line with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines.
“To the glory of God, all of us, both the players and officials who participated in the COVID-19 test on January 16 have tested negative and we are happy about it.
“We are going to forward the results to the football board in line with the promise we made to them towards the resumption of the league.
“Our players are physically and mentally fit to commence the league,’’ he said.
