NCF Postpones Zonal U-17 Playoffs
The earlier fixed date for the South- South Girls and Boys Zonal National Under-17 Cricket Playoffs to be hosted by Rivers State, at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Choba, Cricket pitch has been postponed
This was disclosed yesterday by the National Development Manager for the Southern Region, Tonye Timinadi.
The earlier scheduled date which was 7-31 January is now shifted to 15-17 January, 2021 for Girls zonal qualification and the Girls final is fixed for 29-31 January.
While, 21-24 of this month has been picked for the Boys Zonal qualification and 4-7 February, 2021 for the Boys final.
According to Timinadi who is also head coach Rivers State Cricket association, the postponement of the National Under 17 Cricket Championship was to enable the Federation put all necessary modalities in place.
Also, to ensure that the competition is up to the expected standard and organized, inline with all guidelines of COVID-19.
He said that the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) regrets any inconveniences the postponement of the playoffs dates may have caused.
He however, urged participants to be focused and be more committed to their chosen career as they prepare for the task ahead.
