We Had A Bad Day Against Rivers Utd – MFM Coach
MFM FC gaffer Coach Tony Bolus said that his side’s loss to Rivers United was a bad day in the office and he expects his boys to be ready for the new season.
The Olukoya Boys conceded three goals in the second semi-final of the Governor Wike Pre-season Tournament in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Saturday.
Speaking after the game, the former Giwa FC Coach was satisfied with the efforts of his boys and blamed the defeat on hard luck.
“I would not say fatigue set in because we had about 24 hours to rest but I would say it was a bad day in office with more pressure to reduce the scoreline in the second half proved abortive. Luck was not just on our side.”
“We had a very slow start and a couple of mistakes at the back cost us those goals, before the boys could come back into the game it was a little bit too late for us.”
The experienced gaffer added that he had positives to take away from this competition:
“We have been able to see all the players we brought, know who to draft into the team proper and who to drop as I always say, Still work in progress.”
“It will be a collective decision within the technical crew based on how everyone responded in this competition.”
MFM FC will be going back to the South Western part of Nigeria for another Preseason Tournament in Ogun State before the NPFL season kicks off.
