10 Delta Communities To Benefit From USAID Water Project
The United State Agency for International Development USAID has engaged the service of a private firm, FullPlan Associate, to carry out comprehensive block mapping and enumeration of water consumers in 10 communities in Delta State.
Under the USAID E-WASH, the international body is embarking on the exercise in collaboration with the Delta State Urban Water Corporation with a view to improving water supply to the communities.
The liaison officer, FullPlan Associates, Mrs Ezenwa Ebele, who disclosed this on Wednesday, said the exercise was geared towards improving the performance of water corporation to achieve its short, medium and long term objectives.
According to her, the area to be covered during the exercise are Asaba, Ugwashi-Uku, Kwale, Ozoro, Ugheli, Bomadi, Warri, Agbor, Orerokpe and Sapele.
She said, “We are to identify customers by places of residence, location and to identify properties with the corporation’s network coverage.”
At least, 65,000 water consumers are expected to be captured during the exercise that will commence on Nov11 and end on Dec 13, 2019. She added that the team of enumerators would move from house to house enumerating buildings that were connected and yet to connect to water pipes.
