Rivers Monarchs Endorse ‘#OurStateOur Responsibility’ Campaign
The Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, has endorsed the ‘#OurStateOur Responsibility’ Campaign recently launched by the State Ministry of Information and Communications.
The campaign was launched by the Ministry to instill the virtue of patriotism among indigenes and non-indigenes resident in the state.
Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, said during an advocacy visit to the council by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim that the campaign was timely as it would help the people to speak up against all acts of destabilisation.
Jaja, who is also the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, urged the Ministry to take the campaign to every nooks and crannies of the state.
The King praised Governor Nyesom Wike for blazing the trail in the fight against crime and stressed the need for all sons and daughters of Rivers State who are against the administration to accept the olive branch recently extended by the Governor to all in opposition to his administration.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim said the campaign was aimed at ensuring that Rivers people understand that the state belongs to them, adding that time has come for the people to stand up and speak against the vocal minority who are giving the state a bad image.
Nsirim said every one living and doing business in the state should see himself as a brand ambassador of the state. The Permanent Secretary also said the consistent flying of Turkish Airline into Port Harcourt has shown that Rivers State is safe for investment.
He commended King Jaja for his quality leadership, which he said, has given the traditional institution council a new direction.
