Kwara HOS Reads Riot Act Over Lateness, Trauncy
The Kwara State Head of Service (HoS), Mrs Susan Oluwole yesterday warned that the Government will no longer tolerate truancy, late coming, negligence and poor attitude to duty from the state workers.
Oluwole gave the warning yesterday in Ilorin when she led a team to Kwara State Secretariat to monitor compliance of workers to government’s directive on resumption time at work.
It would be recalled that the State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq on Monday locked scores of civil servants outside the main gate of the secretariat for late coming.
The Governor had told the workers that lateness to work was unhelpful for government’s business in the 21st century.
Fielding questions from newsmen during the enforcement exercise, the HoS said the level of compliance by civil servants to the Governor’s directive was impressive.
She disclosed that other teams were dispatched to Ministries of Health, Finance, Environment and Agriculture to ensure workers adherence to timely resumption.
Oluwole said the workers must inculcate the habits of resuming work at the appropriate time without coercion and monitoring.
