Super 4 Play-Off: Rivers Angels Set For Showdown
Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt says it is set to encounter opponent Nasarawa Amazon, today in the 2018 Super 4 play off at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Team Manager of the club, Matilda Opuene who disclosed this, Wednesday during an interview with Tidesports said that her club will win the competition.
She said that she is optimistic that her club, (Rivers Angels) will win the Super Championship by winning their two games at the Agege township stadium, today and tomorrow respectively.
According to her, in as much as she respects other teams, she is going to Lagos with a desire to go home victorious.
“I sincerely think we are a better side now. We were woeful in Benin, but we have a better, experienced and hungrier side now. We are determined and focused to make it a double this season,” Matilda Opuene said.
“I know the other teams want to win the cup too, that makes it more challenging and we love that, but unfortunately the four teams cannot take the cup home. It is just one team and that team is Rivers Angels,” she concluded.
It would be recalled that the 2018 AITEO Cup Champions finished fourth at the 2017 Super 4 competition, but the Rivers State-born football administrator believes that her team is much better than they were in Benin City.
Meanwhile, the competition which commenced, yesterday at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos State is expected to witness the participation of four teams, Bayelsa Queens, Sunshine Queens, Nasarawa Amazon and Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt.
