SteadyRun Club Gets Commendation, Plays Mini Marathon
The Rivers State Commissioner for Sports Hon. Boma Iyaye has commended the President and Founder of SteadyRun Club, Mr. Steady Onome Idisi for his efforts over the years to bring people together for fitness in Rivers State and moving further to organise mini marathon race in Port Harcourt.
“I must appreciate SteadyRun Club in Port Harcourt for bring together men, women, children and the physical challenged person to participate in fitness. The Mini Marathon Race is not just keeping people fit, but to tell the story that Port Harcourt is a peaceful city, where sporting activities happens. We commend him as an individual to achieve this height”, he stated.
Hon. Iyaye made the remark on Tuesday 4th September, when the SteadyRun Club led by it’s President and Founder, Mr, Steady Onome Idisi paid him a courtesy visit in his office to inform him, and also seek the support of his ministry for the Mini Marathon Race planed to take place on Saturday, 24th November, 2018.
The sports commissioner assure SteadyRun Club of the support of the Rivers government through the provision of facilities and logistics that will make the event a huge success.
“Rivers State Government through the Ministry of Sports will support the mini marathon race your club is about to organize, by providing facilities and logistics to make sure it’s a huge success, because it will showcase that Port Harcourt is sporting and peaceful city, where anybody can come and do their businesses, and Port Harcourt will be in the map of Marathon Race all over the world”.
