Buhari Has Impoverished Nigerians – Ikuru
Former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engr Tele Ikuru says the first term of President Muhammad Buhari has impoverished Nigerians more than what obtained in 2015.
Speaking at Rivers South East Senatorial District rally held at Bori last weekend, the immediate past deputy governor of the state enumerated statistics and said Buhari has plunged Nigeria into the woods.
Ikuru who read the statistics as compared to when Buhari took over in 2015 said, “ the economic index in 2015 was 6 percent now its 1 per cent. inflation rate is now 16.31 percent and the exchange rate was N 197 to a dollar in 2015 , now it’s N365 to a dollar.
He continued,’’the price sales of PMS in 2015 was N87, now it is N145 and the employment rate is 18.8 as against 8.9 in 2015.”
Even the corruption index, Ikuru said has failed to improve as at 2018.
The Andoni- born politician described the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government as decietful, as he said, “ APC is a party of criminals and party of crooks.”.
He said time had come for the masses to vote back the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), which he said was experienced in governing the nation.
Ikuru called on the PDP to rescue the country from doom, “ this country has to be rescued. The PDP need to rescue this country.”
The former deputy governor described the governor, Chief Nyesom Wike as a man of integrity and action,” his good works has earned him awards, and so we need to recognise our prophet at home.”
Calling on the masses to vote the APC out of power, Ikuru urged the people to massively register in the ongoing voters registration exercise, in order to determine who becomes the next president.
