Rivers, Soul Of Nigeria’s Economy – Fayose

Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, with pupils of Santa Maria Nursery and Primary School in Port Harcourt shortly after inspecting work on the NLNG-Nkpogu bridge in Port Harcourt, on Friday.
The Governor of Ekiti State,
Ayodele Fayose on Saturday described Rivers State as the soul of Nigeria in view of its economic contributions to the country.
Governor Fayose said this at a thanksgiving and Supreme Court victory celebration of Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike which was organised by the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the Liberation Stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt.
He commended the Supreme Court for being “courageous enough to clear the mess to save Rivers State from being destroyed by the desperados.”
He also accused President Muhammadu Buhari of plotting to Islamise the country. He said, “Rivers State is the soul of Nigeria and it is governed by a man who fears God. Your people will never go back to Egypt. I want to appreciate Supreme Court which was courageous enough to clear the mess.
“We have all summoned courage. They have deceived us to take our inheritance. We are going to get our inheritance back. I want to say one thing; they have started again.
“I want to reveal one secret here; they have started subtle moves to make Nigeria an Islamic nation. But God will not allow it. This was done in 1984, but it failed. I cannot run away; I am Ayo Fayose, Pete the rock. If you hit m e, you will be in trouble and if I hit you, you will be in trouble.
“Nig is a free nation and this nation will not be taken for an Islamic nation. Today, I decree the return of a PDP government in 2019. They (APC) are by chance and they will go by chance.”
In his speech, the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike expressed dismay over the killings of innocent souls in Ogoni and promised to protect the Ogoni people whom he said, have suffered a lot in the past.
The Governor assured that no politician in the state would be allowed to subvert the will and vote of the electorate during the forthcoming March 19th State and National Assembly elections.

APC Unveils New NWC At National Convention
Delegates at the convention, held at the Eagle Square, also produced a new national working committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement endorsed by stakeholders.
Dr Ben Nwoye was named deputy national chairman (south), replacing Mr Emma Eneukwu, following consultations within the party.
Sources within the party said the decision was influenced by zoning considerations and consultations among party leaders, with Mr Peter Mbah, Enugu State governor, playing a significant role in ensuring Dr Nwoye’s inclusion.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Yilwatda said his re-election was a call to greater service and pledged commitment to unity within the ruling party.
“We are ready to serve, ready to lead, and we are ready to build the party, together with the nation,” he said.
He added that the new leadership would not “fail or falter” in carrying out its responsibilities.
President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, governors, members of the national assembly, and other party leaders graced the convention.
