Association Prepares For NSSF
Assistant Coach of
the Rivers State Weight lifting Association, Mike Onyekachi says that the team has commenced preparations for the forthcoming 2016 National School Sports Festival, (NSSF).
Coach Onyekachi revealed this on Tuesday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the athletes have being doing their individual training for a while now, since there were no competitions on ground for them to come together as a team and prepare.
Now that we have been giving May as the month for the competition we have to start our preparations by bringing the athletes together as a team and train a head of the event”, Onyekachi said.
He noted that sport is an individual event, but we still need to come together to train as a body in order to improve the standard of the students (athletes) and as well educate them on new rules and regulations on the sport”.
