PH Firm Wins Best Port Dev Award in Nigeria
The West African Container Terminal (WACT), Onne in Rivers State has been named Nigeria’s best containers handling and Port Development Company of 2015
The award was given at the African Government and Corporate Leadership Ceremony organised by Nigeria Institute for Government, Research, Leadership and Technology in Abuja, recently.
The Tide correspondent gathered that the award was given in recognition of WACT’s establishment of new industry standards in the areas of productivity, Investment and Service deliver to its customers in Nigeria.
According to our correspondent the award reflects the company’s outstanding performance in its operation as well as its efficiency, advanced technology and customer satisfaction.
In his speech over the award, the Managing Director of WACT, Martin Jacob said, ‘ we are very proud of what we have been able to accomplish as a team and we are grateful for this national recognition of our achievement.
Jacob opined that the company led succeeded in connecting the east, north, west,central Nigeria and Rivers State to the world.
According to him, this was made possible through outstanding service delivery, cordial business relationship with our customers, regular interaction with all our stakeholders, manpower development, acquisition of modern equipment, improved technology and e-commerce.
It would be recalled that WACT which is the first green field container terminal built in Nigeria under public private partnership (PPP), has become the most efficient Nigeria gateway to market outside the Lagos area.
