HOS Lauds CRUTECH’s Digitalisation Programme
The Cross River State
Head of Service, Ntunkae Mary-Theresa Ikwen, has described the Cross River University of Science and Technology as one of the fastest growing and digitalised state universities in the country.
Mrs. Ikwen stated this during an inspection tour to the university to access the level of progress and state of facilities at the campus. She noted that the institution was established to fill the gap in science and technology needs of the society.
The Head of Service expressed confidence that the Prof. Owan Enoh-led-administration was capable of uplifting the institution to the next level and charged management to improve on their social responsibility by awarding scholarship to students and absorbing the outstanding graduates as lecturers in the school.
She also called on the management to develop areas of partnership in consultancy programmes and research with the civil service for effectiveness, and advised staff of the institution to ensure that they add value to the system through hard work and diligence.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor of CRUTECH, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, expressed satisfaction on the visit by the HOS, describing it as timely.
In a related development, the Head of Service visited the state’s Ministry of Information headquarters, where she described the office condition of the newsroom as unacceptable and a sorry state.
The Head of Service who was conducted round the ministry by its permanent secretary, Mr. Freedom Ejom, directed the permanent secretary to urgently apply for the repairs of the damaged roof, pending when a comprehensive renovation of the ministry would commence, saying that it was unhealthy and unacceptable for staff to sit and work in an office with damaged roof and stagnant waters.
