NNWL Cancels Super Tournament
The Nigeria Nation-
Wide League (NNWL) has cancelled its proposed Super 8 Tournament for Division Two clubs which recently gained promotion into its Division One.
In a statement signed by the league’s Secretary, Olushola Ogunnowo, this week in Abuja, said this was due to the unavailability of the clubs involved.
“This confirmation was made when we received complaints that their players were on break and it would be difficult to prepare their teams for the event.
“The secretariat, however, looks forward to organising the event in future,’’ the statement said.
The tournament was earlier expected to hold from January 28 to January 31.
The clubs include My People FC of Lagos, Ibom Youth FC of Akwa-Ibom, Dynamite FC of Edo, Ikare United of Ondo and NAF FC of Abuja.
The rest are Zabgai United of Bauchi, Junior Spotlite FC of Katsina and Fadam FC of Kebbi.
