Etche Stakeholders Endorse Dakuku
Stakeholders from Etche
Local Government Area of Rivers State have endorsed the governorship standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Dr. Dakuku Peterside as their consensus candidate in the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state.
The stakeholders also endorsed, General Muhammadu Buhari as their Presidential candidate, as well as Andrew Uchendu, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke for Senate and House of Representatives respectively .They further agreed to work for the re-election bid of Hon. Victor Amadi, and Hon. Golden Chioma for Etche I and II constituencies in the State House of Assembly.
The stakeholders made this endorsement during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign rally held at Okehi, the headquarters of the Local Government Area over the weekend.
The rally was graced by a large crowd of APC supporters across the 19 wards of the LGA including non-indigenes residing in the area.
Speaking at the rally, the Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Etche Local Government Area, Barr. Reginald Ukwuoma told the gathering that Etche Local Government Area had endorsed the flagbearer of the APC for the 2015 governorship election in the state.
Barr. Ukwuoma explained that the decision of the people of the area to choose Hon. Dakuku Peterside was due to his track record of performance during his tenure as the State Commissioner for Works.
According to him, Etche benefited inmensely in terms of projects, noting that the people of the area would vote massively for him.
In their respective speeches, Hon. Nnamdi Okere, Allwell Onyesoh, Ogbonna Nwuke, Chief Ambrose Igbokwe and the Chairman APC Campaign Team in the area, Hon. Emeka Ordu described the area as a home of APC.
They assured the Etche people would deliver the LGA to APC, stressing that the laudable performance of the state governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was a good testimony for the party to win convincingly in the area.
“On 14th February 2015, we will deliver Buhari, Andrew Uchendu and Ogbonna Nwuke while on the 28th, we will also deliver, Dakuku Adol-Peterside, Victor Amadi and Golden Ben Chioma” they said.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etche Local Government Area has commenced the ward to ward campaign rally ahead the next month general elections in the state.

VIO HOLDS COLLABORATIVE MEETING WITH AUPCTRE IN RIVERS STATE
The Chief of the Rivers State Road Traffic and Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO), Engr. Akobo Monibo, alongside other executive officers of the agency, received the leadership of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Employees (AUPCTRE), Rivers State Council, during a courtesy and interactive meeting held at the office of the Chief VIO.
The delegation was led by the State Chairman of AUPCTRE, Comrade Tamunoiminabo Toby, accompanied by other executive members of the union.
Speaking during the meeting, Engr. Akobo Monibo expressed appreciation to the union leadership for identifying with the VIO at this crucial time and commended the union for its commitment towards workers’ welfare and institutional development.
According to him, the responsibilities of the VIO remain enormous and vital to the development of a safer transportation system within the state.
In his response, the State Chairman of AUPCTRE, Comrade Tamunoiminabo Toby, appreciated the warm reception and hospitality extended to the union delegation by the leadership of the VIO.
He explained that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to facilitate the establishment of an AUPCTRE Unit or Chapter within the VIO, noting that the union already has members within the Ministry of Transport and other related agencies.
The chairman further emphasized the benefits of union membership, especially in promoting workers’ welfare, unity, cooperation, and professional representation within government establishments.
Also speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Chief VIO, Comrade Livings Denoi, appreciated the union for the visit and welcomed the move towards establishing a VIO Chapter of AUPCTRE, describing it as a positive step toward strengthening collaboration and staff welfare within the agency.
Other personalities present during the meeting included Sup. Stella Jacks and the State Secretary of AUPCTRE, Comrade Okpeyeme Adebajo, alongside other officials from both organizations.
The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to partnership, institutional growth, and the promotion of efficient service delivery in Rivers State.
