Bafana, Elephants In Crunchy Game, Sunday
terday named his squad for the upcoming Nelson Mandela Challenge against the Ivory Coast.
South Africa will welcome The Elephants to the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday 30 November, fresh off their successful 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Mashaba’s men will now look to continue their unbeaten run having qualified for next year’s showpiece in Equatorial Guinea without tasting defeat.
South Africa last hosted the Ivory Coast in the 2011 edition of the Nelson Mandela Challenge, that game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Last year’s edition saw Nigeria win 2-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium thanks to a second-half brace from Uche Nwofor.
The squad consists only of local based players while there are no players called up from neither Platinum Stars nor SuperSport United as they will be involved in the Telkom Knockout Cup final at the weekend.
