S’Falcons Wallop Zambia 6-0

A South African midfielder (6) in contest with Nigeria’s Onazi Ogenyi when the two countries clashed in a 2015 AFCON Qualifier last month.
Super Falcons of Nigeria became the first team to qualify for the semi-final of the 2014 AWC yesterday after they pounded Zambia 6-0 in their second Group A match.
Their qualification moves them nearer clinching a ticket to next year’s World Cup as the top three teams from this tournament will fly Africa’s flag at Canada 2015.
France-based striker Desire Oparanozie grabbed a brace with Ngozi Okobi, Ohale Osinachi, Asisat Oshoala and veteran Perpetua Nkwocha also getting on the scoreboard.
The defeat was flattering as the much more experienced Nigerians ought to have scored more goals against the debutants.
Zambia’s She-Polopolo were reduced to 10 women when defender Grace Zulu was sent off six minutes from half time.
Falcons final group game will be against home team Namibia on Friday.
