3 Ex-Students Arraigned For Assaulting Lecturer
Three former students
of the Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka were docked at an Abraka magistrate’s court on a three-count charge of felony, stealing and assault on one Mr. Ifeanyi Ogu-Raphael who is a lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department of the university.
According to the charge sheet with number MAB/35c/2014, the accused, Oghenetega Odiete, Aforke Avwerosuo, Oghenede Ufuoma and others at large, were said to have on June 3, 2013 at Abraka committed felony to wit: assault occasioning harm, unlawfully beat up and stole N69, 000, four mobile handsets and an ATM card all belonging to Mr. Ogu-Raphael.
The offences are said to be punishable under Sections 516, 355 and 390 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol.1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.
However, the Magistrate, Mrs. O. M. Omonemu adjourned the case to September 17, 2014.
