Instructor Tasks Boxers On Coaching Clinic
A boxing instructor
at the National Institute for Sports (NISport), Adegboyega Adeniji-Adele, has appealed to the Nigeria Boxing Federation to enhance the capacity of its officials through regular coaching clinics.
Adeniji-Adele told newsmen in Lagos that by so doing the technical officials would be kept abreast of the current trend in the sports.
He said that such a programme would also impact positively on the federation’s grassroot development programmes.
“What I need the government or NABA president to do now is to organise periodic seminars, workshops, and clinics for coaches, referees, and sport administrators.
“Then there should be a joint stakeholders’ meeting and conference, so that the game (sport) can move on as best as possible.
“And also, the coaches should be sent for periodic seminars and clinic, to update their knowledge; either abroad or NIS where they feel they want to send them to, the most important thing is to update their knowledge and the technical crew.”`
