Ameobi Rejects Newcastle Contract Deal
Super Eagles striker,
Shola Ameobi has rejected a chance to remain at Newcastle United.
Ameobi’s contract with the Magpies runs out this summer, and the player is widely believed to have played his last game for Alan Pardew’s team as he was reported to top a list of players primed to exit the club this summer.
According to Tidesports source, Ameobi has turned down the offer of a one-year contract extension.
The 32-year-old has decided to wait until after the World Cup before making a decision on his future after being named in Nigeria’s 30-man provisional list.
Ameobi was sent off for Newcastle as they lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the final game of the season.
