Disco Begins Installation Of 6,000 Pre-paid Meters
The Ikeja Electricity
Distribution Company (IKEDC) says it has commenced the installation of over 6,000 pre-paid meters in the zone.
Assistant General Manager, Public Affairs of Ikeja Disco, Mr Pekun Adeyanju, made this known to newsmen yesterday in Lagos.
Adeyanju told reporters that the pre-paid meters were for those who paid for them in the last three years.
“Once we finish installing the meters to this category of consumers, we will roll out the modalities for new pre-paid meters in the zone,’’ he said.
Consumers in the zone on Wednesday expressed dismay on the non-availability of pre-paid meters in their area.
Mr Ade-Owas Owabumuwa, President, Amuwo Odofin Landlords Association, New Town, said that pre-paid meters would reduce the burden of estimated bills handed to them by Ikeja Disco.
Owabumuwa said he wondered why the bills in analog meters were high when power supply was not regular.
