Gay Marriage Is Evil, Says Kumuyi
The General Overseer of
Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William F. Kumuyi, has described gay marriage as evil and unscriptural.
Pastor Kumuyi, who said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt recently noted that gay marriage was alien to the Christian religion and a sin against God and man.
Speaking on criticisms against the Anti-Gay bill recently assented to by President Goodluck Jonathan, the General Superintendent said that Nigeria was a sovereign nation and therefore had the legitimate right to decide what was good for herself.
On the issue of the National Conference, the man of God said that there was nothing wrong for Nigerians to sit at a round table to discuss together, but noted that the government must ensure equal representation of all ethnic groups in the country in the forth-coming conference.
He also urged the political class across the country to cultivate the attitude of tolerance, stressing that politics must not be seen as an avenue for self-enrichment but to improve the condition of humanity.
Speaking on the theme: Spectacular Miracle Through Divine Encounter at a crusade organised by the church in Port Harcourt, Pastor Kumuyi said Christ is ability to conquer man’s inability had set man free from sins, stressing that before the coming of Christ mankind was in chains.
The man of God who quoted several scriptures to buttress his point, said that the coming of Christ liberated mankind from the chain of sin.
He also said that at the end of the crusade, Rivers State and the entire South South region would be liberated from the shackles of all oppressive tendencies of the devil and its agents.
