Opurum Hails More First Class Stools In Etche

Contrary to insinuations that the Onye Ishi Etche, Eze Emmanuel Opurum (JP) is opposed to the creation of two more first class stools in Etche ethnic nationality, Eze Opurum has said that he is in support of the creation of more first class stools.
The royal father made the clarification in his palace at Nadshi Etche when some clergymen of Etche Anglican Communion paid him a courtesy visit.
The Onye Ishi Etche noted that the creation of more first class stools would enhance speedy development of the area and ensure traditional growth of Etche.
He however expressed dissatisfaction that some disgruntled persons in Etche had embarked on rumour mongering and gossip.
Eze Opurum urged Etche people especially the youths to embrace the culture of Etche stressing that the rich cultural heritage of Etche which should not be allowed to die by the present generation and regretted that politics, Western culture and Western education were being given priority at the detriment of the peoples’ culture.
Bishop of the Diocese of Etche Anglican Communion, Bishop Precious Okechukwu Nwala who led the delegation noted that the creation of more first class stools in Etche would enhance rapid development of Etche as against negative.
He said the elevation of stools would give more opportunities for Etche people at the State and national levels like other ethnicities in the state.
It would be recalled that the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi elevated the stool of Onye Ishi Agwuru Okehi clan from second class to first class, Igbo clan from second class to first class as well as elevating Ozuzu clan head from third class to second class.
