Fate Of Suspended Coach Unknown – Heartland FC
Heartland FC of Owerri
has not decided the fate of its suspended coach, Ndubuisi Ndubueze, its Media Officer, Cajetan Nkwopara, has said.
Nkwopara told newsmen in Lagos that the club’s management would soon take a definite stand on the issue.
He said the club would continue to function with its current schedule until a final decision on the issue was arrived at.
“We have been playing without him toward the end of the just-concluded season and it’s still like that, but I’m sure the management will soon come up with a permanent solution.
“Although everything is still going smoothly in the club, we are just awaiting the management’s decision,’’ he said.
In terms of scouting for new players before the commencement of the 2013/2014 season, Nkwopara said the club would handle the issue accordingly.
“It’s very important for the club to start scouting early so as not to pick leftovers; so we have to be prompt about the decision.
“I’m sure the board will come up with a decision soon because this can weigh the club down and I look forward to an early start to avoid struggling,’’ the media officer said.
Our correspondent reports that Heartland suspended Ndubueze following its loss to visiting Kwara United FC in a Globacom Premier League Week 24 encounter in Owerri.
The management also placed the players on half salary until further notice.
