Rivers Cycling Association Hosts Niger Delta Championship,’ Morrow
The Rivers State Cycling Association will tomorrow hold her monthly competition tagged “Niger Delta Open Championship in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
This was disclosed by chief Coach of the State’s cycling body Emmanuel Onasanya Wednesday, during an interview with Tidesports at the Alfred Diett Spiff Sports Complex.
According to him, the competition would host Akwa –Ibom, Cross Rivers, Delta, Edo, and Bayelsan State, all the Niger Delta states are to participate in the championship.
He said that the competition which has produced good number of cyclists for the state is expected to be remarkable as there are lots of prizes to be won.
The coach promised to ensure that this cyclists cart away at least 95% of the take home prizes, saying that , his athletes have worked hard in order to win quality prizes in the tournament.
The competition starts in the morning along Forces Avenue old GRA Port Harcourt.
It would be recalled that the state’s Cycling Association won most of the medals at the “Eko 2012” National Sports Festival held in Lagos State.
