Sharks Cry Foul, Condemn Nasarawa Fans
Sharks FC has cried foul over their controversial 1-0 loss away to Nasarawa United in an NPFL Week 17 game played last weekend amid violent disruptions from home fans.
There was pandemonium after 45 minutes when the referee signalled for half-time with the game still at a stalemate as the home fans seized control of the stadium and blocked the entrance to the dressing room, thus leaving the players and match officials stranded on the pitch.
Police and Civil defence officers reportedly did little to save the situation until some stewards eventually defied the rampaging fans and escorted the referees to their lockers.
During the interval, Sharks registered their fear of impending unfair officiating on twitter alleging that the already intimidated referee would turn against them.
“am afraid if the second half goes ahead” a tweet on their official twitter handle read.
