Guiness Charges Nigerians On 2014 W/Cup
One of Super Eagles’ sponsors, Guinness Nigeria Plc, has urged Nigerians to keep faith with the team in their battle to pick a ticket for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The company’s Marketing Manager, Obinna Anyamele the newsmen in Lagos that told Eagles would not disappoint their teeming supporters.
The Eagles forced the Harambee Stars of Kenya to a 1-1 draw in an Africa Zone Group F match at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar last weekend.
“The Super Eagles who won the 2013 AFCON title last month in South Africa are still in a celebratory mood.
“The Kenyans were trying to take advantage of the situation, but they fell short of their objective.
“So, let’s watch out for the Eagles in their next match. Then, we will see the real Eagles, different from the one that played the Harambee Stars at the U.J. Esuene Stadium,” Anyamele said.
He added that, as the official drink, Guinness was solidly behind the Eagles and would still be with the Nigerian senior national football team through thick and thin.
Anyamele said the Super Eagles’ exploits at the recently-concluded AFCON in South Africa should make Nigerians to trust the team the more.
“Nobody believed that the Eagles would perform the way they did,” he said.
The Guinness official called on Nigerians to throw their weight behind head coach Stephen Keshi and the team to enable them succeed in their subsequent matches.
