LG Boss Wants Youths To Respect Authorities
The chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Hon. Ibigoni Daddy Pokima, has charged the newly elected executive members of the Usokun-Degema Youth Association to see themselves as representatives of the entire youths in the community in discharge of their duties.
Hon Pokima, represented by the secretary of council, Hon. Hans Hansell stated this while inaugurating the youth body at the council headquarters in Degema.
He enjoined the youths to show respect for constituted authorities and work in harmony with the chiefs to move the community forward
Also speaking, the Supervisor for Education, Youths and Sports in the area, Hon. Dabo Dokubo advised them not to be carried away by the euphoria of office, but to see their election as a call to duty to effect positive changes in the community.
Earlier in his speech, the newly elected president of the body, Pokoye Noel Loveday, expressed gratitude to the council chairman for conducting a peaceful election and making the dream of the people a reality.
In another development, Hon. Pokima has assured the Nigeria Prison Service of his administration’s readiness to partner with the formation.
The council boss who stated this when the Assistant Controller of Prison, Degema, ACP Jude I. Okoro paid him a courtesy call in his office, assured the prison boss of his council’s preparedness to provide security to the formation at all times.
He described the visit as timely and promised to give necessary assistance to the formation within available resources.
Earlier in his speech, the Assistant Controller of Prison, ACP Jude I Okoro, had informed the chairman that they were in his office to seek the council’s support in the discharge of their duties.
