TIMARIV Boss Denies Corruption Allegation
The Controller General of the Rivers State Road Traffic Management (TIMARIV), Mr.Nelson Jaja has refuted media reports on a petition by one Peterside Beke Chinda to the state House of Assembly, describing the petition as baseless, and a calculated attempt to rubbish his image and hard-earned reputation before the public.
The TIMARIV boss, who was speaking through his media Chief, Apostle John Amaowoh, further described the media reports and the petition as a handiwork of mischief-makers, while advising media practitioners to always cross-checked their facts before rushing to the press.
“The reports and petition are unfounded and false in its entirety. I want to also appeal to journalists to always cross-check their information before publication,” Mr.Jaja said.
He maintained that despite the reports and allegation linking him to corruption, he had never in any way belittled himself or tampered with funds meant for the running of the body .
“Again, that statement is very funny and completely false. I will like to dismiss the statement as false ,because ,since TIMARIV came onboard ,we have never had any capital votes from any where to buy equipment, nor had we received any grant for equipment”, he said.
Mr.Jaja hinted that what is sustaining the body is their love for the state coupled with their prudent management of the little resources available, adding that because of the lack of funds, “our position is so tight that most of our contractors who cannot cope do not see the need to apply for more jobs.
On the issue of Keke NAPEP, the TIMA-RIV boss said that more steps are being taken to ensure the operation of this group does not constitute a menace to road users.
