HOS Inaugurates Civil Service Week Committee
Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, Barrister Samuel LongJohn has inaugurated the Central Planning Committee of the 2013 Civil Service Week celebrations with a charge to improve on previous celebrations.
The Head of Service who had earlier inaugurated the Editorial Board of the Rivers Bureaucrat Magazine, a publication of the Rivers Civil Service, told the 27-member Central Planning Committee of the Civil Service Week that they should commence work immediately with a view to avoiding slips.
Chairman of the Central Planning Committee and Solicitor- General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Mr Rufus Godwins thanked the Head of Service for the opportunity given to him and all the members to serve the state through the Civil Service Week celebrations.
The committee which has as its secretary, Mr Donatus Nweneka, Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the office of the Head of Service, is to facilitate the annual celebration of the civil service for its contribution to development in Africa countries every June 23.
Earlier, Mr LongJohn inaugurated the reconstituted Bo.ard for the Rivers Bureaucrat with Ms Kadilo Brown, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, as Chairman and Evangelist Eddy Oloko, Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s office as Vice Chairman.
Chairman of the Editorial Board of The Tide Newspapers, Alabo Dagogo Clinton retained his position as Editor, while the Director, News and Current Affairs of Radio Rivers, Lady Lizzy Fombo becomes the Deputy Editor.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Head of Service congratulated them on their appointment and urged them to improve on the previous editions so as to create the desired impact on the Rivers State Civil Service.
