Church Donates To Charity Home
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has made a donation of food Items, toiletries and children’s wears to the Cheshire Home, Port Harcourt.
Making the donation, the pastor in charge, RCCG, Province 4, Stadium Road, Pastor Peter Bawo, said it was in the spirit of sharing that the church decided to make such donations to charity Homes.
Pastor Bawo said, this is a season of giving we recognized that these ones can not exchange gifts with one another as we do, so we decided to come and share with them.
He added that the church has already made donations to flood victims’ in their respective camps before the camps were closed adding that the donation to charity Homes would continue through out the state till Christmas Day when they would visit patients in hospitals.
He noted that it was the duty of the church to care for the less privileged in the society and thanked those who had at one time or the other made donations to support and the Homes.
He expressed gratitude to former mates who had attained higher education and advised others to understand that there is ability in disability.
He advised that they should not be deterred in whatever situation they found themselves.
In his remarks, the Assistant Pastor incharge of RCCG, Province 4, and Pastor in charge of Corporate Social Responsibility Department, (RCCG), Pastor Ibanibo Frank-Briggs, said the donations were made in keeping with the season and as part of their corporate social responsibility.
Responding, the matron in charge of Cheshire Home, Mrs Phelomina Iruegbu, thanked RCCG for their gestures and enjoined other Christian bodies to emulate them while urging the public to put God first in all their undertakings.
