Boko Haram Leader Speaks On New Video
The Islamic fundamentalist terrorist group Boko Haram once again threatened the Nigerian government and some Western countries. Its leader, Abubakar Shekau, declared in a 39-minute footage published on the Islamic website ‘Site’ that “the world, the United States, England, and the Jews in Israel who are killing many Muslims in Palestine must know we are joining our Mujaheddin brothers, who support Allah’s cause all over the world”, in Libya, Pakistan, Mali, Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan. Still referring to the “crusading” governments of the US, UK, Israel and Nigeria, Shekau – according to ‘Site’ – said in Arabic that “the Jihad does not end with the death of the Imams, who are individuals.
The Jihad only begins now, oh enemies of Allah”. Earlier this week, Boko Haram, through a letter signed by a member of the group’s moderate wing – and endorsed by Shekau himself – officially said it would be possible to start talks with the Nigerian government, but the actual date of the recorded footage cannot be ascertained. The conflict between Boko Haram and Nigeria’s security forces has left over 3,000 people dead over the past three years.
