Ikuru Assures On Early Completion Of Unity Road
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, says the Ogoni/Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Unity Road project is on course and would soon be completed within record time
Engr. Ikuru said this Friday during an unscheduled inspection of the project sites at the Opobo/Nkoro and Andoni axes of the road.
He expressed joy at the level of work done, lauding the contractor, Rivigo JV Nigeria Limited for a job well done, noting that “I’m quite impressed that the construction work done so far is very good.”
The state deputy governor assured on the capability of the company to deliver on the job given the extent and quality of work they have done, explaining that the delay in crossing the bridge 9 is due to technical difficulties relating to the terrain, adding that given the pace of work, communities in the area would be able to utilize the road by December this year.
Speaking, the Project Coordinator of the company, Mr. Vardanege Geromeger assured that before the end of the year, the road would connect Kalaibiama Town in the Opobo axis and also link the Ngo end of the Andoni axis.
He, however, lamented the technical challenges faced by the company due to the difficult terrain, while expressing optimism that the company would deliver on its mandate, stating that “our mandate is to finish the job as soon as possible and we will do just that.”
