Maigari Charges Administrators On New Strategies
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, has urged football administrators to evolve new tactics and strategies of administering soccer, for rapid development of the game.
Maigari made the call at the FIFA WIAWA Administration and Management course held at the NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
The NFF boss also pledged that his administration would continue to pursue doggedly, the cause of improving Nigerian football at all levels — coaching, refereeing, administration and welfare of players and officials.
“The actualisation of this programme is derived from the determination of the present NFF administration to positively affect all areas of the game.
“And to enact new standards that will sooner than later, take Nigerian football to higher heights in the game’s firmament. This high-level course is not a picnic,” he said.
According to him, the course was designed for football administrators and managers to gain from classroom and practical sessions and go back to their respective bases to impart this positively on how things are run.
Maigari said that at the end of the course, administrators would be expected to turn around the running of the clubs positively.
The NFF president said that the officials should seize the opportunity provided by the course to improve themselves as the federation was firmly pursuing a vision of making the NFF a brand.
He noted that when the federation’s vision would be actualised, it would make corporate organisations and multi-national companies to fall over themselves to associate with the NFF.
In his remarks, FIFA Instructor Brendon Menton applauded the attitude of the participants.
He canvassed a cordial relationship between the NFF and the Nigeria Professional League (NPL), noting that strong premier league clubs would be imperatives for the development of the game.
The course ends tomorrow in Abuja.
