PCRC Members Charged On Volunteerism
Members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Ogu/Bolo Police Division, have been enjoined not to relent in their voluntary services to the society.
The Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Council, Dame Maureen Tamuno made the call when the executive members of the body led by its chairman, Hon Promise Wakama paid her a courtesy visit in her office at Ogu last Thursday.
Dame Tamuno said they were worthy of commendation for accepting to volunteer their services in ensuring peace reigned in their locality, describing the members as good ambassadors of the area.
She noted that with their activities and the police, there would be peace, security as well as protection of lives and property in the Local Government Area and enjoined them not to relent.
The Ogu/Bolo Local Government boss who assured them of her support to ensure they achieve their set objectives also reminded them that voluntary services enhances curriculum vitae in other parts of the country, stressing that it is important because they would have an edge over others for their contributions to the nation and the society in particularly.
Earlier, the chairman of the body, Hon P.J. Wakama had informed the council chairman that they were in her office to solicit for assistance in their hosting of Police Community Forum in Ogu, headquarters of the local government council come June 29, 2012, to enlighten the people of the local government on the need to regard the police as their friend and not as an enemy.
Hon Wakama thanked her for the warm reception and also commended her for the developmental projects being carried out in the area and assured her of their support and loyalty for the growth of the local government area and peace to reign supreme.
