Loss To Lobi Won’t Derail Sharks’ Ambition
The Chief Coach of Sharks FC, Port Harcourt, Imama Amapakabo has said that despite the club’s 2-0 collapse to Lobi Stars FC on Wednesday, they remain on course to finish within the top brackets on the league table in order to grab one of the available continental tickets.
Amapakabo stated this in a telephone interview with Tidesports yesterday, while on his way to Port Harcourt from the Lobi Stars’ match.
According to him, their loss would not stop their ambition to play in the continent next season.
“The technical crew and players are optimistic that the team will play one of the continental competitions next season,” Amapakabo said.
He continued that the technical crew would correct the grey areas in the team to ensure that they win their remaining matches in the league.
Amapakabo attributed the loss to Lobi to the inability of his strikers to convert their scoring chances.
“We played a very good game, but the problem was that my players were unable to convert glaring scoring chances. That is a major reason why we will change our pattern,” he said.
