Booth, Cape Town Settle On Contract Renewal
Ajax Cape Town have put to rest the future of Matthew Booth by agreeing to a contract renewal with the veteran defender.
George Comitis, the Ajax CEO, said Booth would stay with the club after they reached an agreement with the 35-year-old to take up the option that they had when he signed last November.
“We have agreed to a one-year contract that has another year’s option. We are now just waiting for him to sign when he returns from Morocco, where he is on holiday, but the deal is done,” Comitis told Tidesports source.
Booth signed for Ajax in November last year after spending time at the club completing his recovery from a knee injury picked up while he was at Mamelodi Sundowns.
The former Bafana Bafana defender started 17 Premier Soccer League games last season, scoring five goals.
