Pension Law: Borno Lawmakers Visit Lagos Assembly
A delegation of the Borno State House of Assembly, has visited the Lagos State House of Assembly to understudy the Lagos Assembly on how to enact a suitable law on pension scheme.
Mr Ahmed Jaha, who led the delegation to Lagos on Monday, said that the team came to solicit assistance on how to enact a suitable and functioning pension law for the Borno State House of Assembly.
Jaha, who is Chairman of the Ad hoc Committee on Contributory Pension Scheme in the Borno House of Assembly, said that LAHA had worked out an acceptable pension law which had stood the test of time.
He said that his team was keen to know how long it took LAHA to pass the law and how long it took to implement the scheme after the bill was passed into law.
Mrs Omowunmi Edet, (ACN-Oshodi/Isolo II), told the visitors that there was need for a public hearing to involve the people to ensure the acceptance of the resultant law.
Edet, Chairman of the House Committee on Establishment, Training, Pensions and Public Service, promised the visiting law makers adequate assistance to enable them to realise the objective of their mission.
