Bishop Advises Farmers On Use Of Loans
The Anglican Bishop of Asaba Diocese, Rt. Rev. Justus Mogekwu, has advised farmers’ co-operative societies who benefitted from the N1billion agriculture loan to utilise the facility judiciously.
Mogekwu gave the advise in an interview on Tuesday in Asaba.
The Delta Government on Monday disbursed its N1 billion share of the Commercial Agriculture loan provided by the Federal Government through the CBN.
Reacting to the development, Mogekwu commended the government for accessing the loan and disbursing it to farmers to boost agriculture in the state.
He appealed to the benefitting farmers to judiciously utilise the facility for the purpose it was meant.
“This action symbolises government interest in the welfare of the people.
“ I am particularly thrilled that our governor, even though it is his last term in office, is pursuing this activity with vigour.
“I think it is exemplary and I am hoping that the beneficiaries would be committed to seeing this project succeed and the sky will be the limit for Delta. ’’
