Rivers NUJ Holds Confab ‘Morrow
All is now set for the 5th State Triennial Delegates Conference of the Rivers State Council of the NUJ slated for tomorrow.
A statement issued and signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Credentials Committee, Vincent S. Needom and Chris Konkwo respectively said this year’s version of the conference which is held every three years would be chaired by Prince Tonye Princewill with the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as the Special Guest of Honour.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs Ibim Semenitari is the Chief Host.
A renowned journalist and former State Chairman of the NUJ, Amaopu-Senibo Bobo Brown will present the conference talk which theme is: Attaining Journalism Excellence in A Democracy Like Nigeria.
All registered members of the NUJ are expected to attend and participate effectively.
Meanwhile, the National Secretariat of the NUJ has also directed that all voters and contestants must pay their professional fees up to 2012.
All registered members of the State Council of the NUJ are therefore by this directive expected to update their financial standing before the conference date.
