Diocese Constructs 100 Beds Hospital …Celebrates 60th Anniversary
As part of effort to contribute towards the healthcare delivery system in the state, the Niger Delta Diocese of the Anglican Communion is building 100 beds hospital in the state.
The Lord Chancellor of the Diocese, Hon. Justice B.A. Georgewill said this in an interview with newsmen during the praise festival organised as part of the 60th Anniversary of the Diocese at St. Cyprian Church, Port Harcourt.
Hon. Justice Georgewill who is the Chairman of the Anniversary Committee said that the diocese has recorded several success in terms of evangelism, contending that, the Niger Diocese has given rise to several dioceses and two provinces within the Anglican Communion.
He said that the anniversary was to thank God for what he has done for the diocese the last 60 years.
The Lord Chancellor also said that the praise festival was meant to bring the blessings of God to the dioceses.
“When praises go up, blessings come down. Today and always as we participate in this praise festival, we shall greatly rejoice in the Lord and our souls shall be joyful in our God” he said.
In his sermon entitled “Hitherto Hath the Lord Helped Us” the Bishop of Uyo Diocese, Rt. Rev. Isaac Orama described the Niger Delta Diocese as the grandfather of Dioceses, but noted that, the work is not over as there are still more grounds to cover.
Rt. Rev. Orama said that, the 60th anniversary is just the beginning of more things to be done in the diocese.
