Cleric Tasks Christians On Righteousness
The Rector of Emmanuel Anglican Church Okoro-nu Odo Deanery, Diocese of Niger Delta North, Ven. (Dr) Isreal O. Omosioni, has advised Christians to live righteous and upright life to enable them earn the Kingdom of God.
The Rector gave the charge Friday while delivering his sermon during the funeral service of Late Chief Godfrey Nwanele Njiowhor at Rumuagholu, Obio/Akpor local government area.
Taking his reading from the Holy Bible, Hebrew, chapter 9 verse 27, Ven Omosioni noted that living a sinful life was bad enough saying that everyman would be individually accountable for his actions because as a man soweth, so shall he reap.
He said that late Pa Godfrey Nwanele Njiowhor who died at the age of 85 years lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
According to him, late Godfrey Njiowhor died in the service of the lord; he was dedicated to the church, honest, God-fearing and ardent follower of Christ till his departure to the great beyond.
In a vote of thanks, the Chief mourner who is also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Sir Promise Njowhor described his late father as a disciplinarian to both his children, family members and acquaintances; this trait, he said earned him the acronym “Ghadaffi.”
The late Chief Njiowhor was laid to rest in his home town, Rumuworlu in Rumuagholu, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Late Chief Njiowhor was the father-in-law of Mrs Juliet Njiowhor, Director, Publications, Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Port Harcourt.

Technology Key to Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Development, Says Computer Scientist
Dr. Legborsi Emmanuel, former state Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), has emphasized that technology is the sure way for Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
He made this assertion while speaking with newsmen at the sideline of 118th inaugural lecture series of Rivers State University (RSU) held in port Harcourt, wednesday.
He stressed that the lecture, which focused on emerging technology and its impact on the socio-economic development of the country, aligns with the NCS’s economic focus.
He highlighted the importance of building an economy driven by technology, citing the success of the Rivers State Smart Economy policy as an example.
The computer scientist emphasized the need for innovation and doing things differently, asserting that “technology is the only way out” for Nigeria’s development. He praised the lecturer, Professor Mathias Daniel, for exploring the applications of technology in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, transport, and socio-economics.
Dr. Emmanuel underscores the critical role technology plays in driving socio-economic growth and development in Nigeria by leveraging technology, the country can unlock new opportunities and address pressing challenges.
